Tokyo Motor Show showcased Vision Tokyo, the concept car from Mercedes-Benz, this Wednesday. The luxury, self-driving vehicle is horsed by the power of a machine that predicts the driver’s needs. The car is catered for people born after 1995, coined as the generation Z, and aims for a comfortable life that delivers style as well.
The target market typically lives in the urban areas and with the help of the deep machine learning, predicts where they might be travelling to, what they prefer and what they like. The car is close to a sleek minivan which even has a lounge inside. The technology helps the computer to knows its customer better on its own.
And that is not it. The car comes with an entertainment system that helps to convert media like apps and maps into 3D holograms. Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, is already claiming for the automobile to be a digital companion
Although the concept is something that we predict to be useful, it is unlikely that it will be produced in masses. However, some features such as the hybrid fuel system seem to be more doable and may even show up in the recent productions of the Vision Tokyo models.
