Now celebrating four decades of success, the iconic Bulgari-Bulgari motif reveals its daywear allure with new sizes, bi-color leathers and contemporary “Perspicio” details.

Spring flourishes in an explosion of striking colors inspired by Bulgari’s precious gemstones. Discover a crescendo of pinks and purples at sunset, the verve of yellow citrines and the soothing sorbet hues. Citrine yellow, reef coral, acquarelle turquoise, berry tourmaline and white agate gush with gusto through the collection in eye-catching styles and combinations. SERPENTI

Since the Forties the serpent, a legendary symbol of wisdom and strength, has been ingrained in Bulgari’s history, aesthetic and success. An eternal wealth of inspiration, this season the snake hypnotizes with the new Serpenti Forever bags in an bursts of boldness. Colors are combined in vibrant color-blocking or in a graphic piping effect with the new palette enhancing the workmanship found in the Serpenti Graphic Frame. Made with ultra-soft yet resistant calfskin, the panels are cobbled together with an inventive and artful touch to create a 3D effect of small frames that set off its modern graphic shape.

The Serpenti Scaglie Gems, instead, shows its rock glam side with black onyx studs, one of the most resistant and compact hard stones. With painstaking precision, each stud is set in a light gold frame, delicately nestled into small slits in the leather. Over time, this distinctive symbol, inspired by the mark of sovereignty on ancient coins, was revisited for different Bulgari creations, including the highly-characteristic Bulgari-Bulgari engraved clasp that lends its name to the collection.

This season, the Bulgari-Bulgari Signature shoulder bags bring a lively and air of freshness to wear with perfect ease thanks to the smooth and shiny leathers. The effect is either a timeless elegance with the white combination to tan and yellow or contagiously upbeat with aquarelle turquoise and denim blue or berry with violet. The calf leather styles are enriched by a lustrous “Perspicio” bar, yielding a strong, contemporary design and an innovative approach to bi-color contrasts.  SCARVES

Refined, lively and luxurious, the new Scarf collection revisits the most distinctive Bulgari elements with a nod to the world of the figurative arts. A smattering of gold rings to graphic effect on the pure silk twill of the BB Unity scarves while the Serpenti Reverie brings to mind a mandala that spirals with depth in a concentric design of different snake skins. The Birds of Eden pattern is a tribute to Bulgari’s jewelry tradition, a triumph of richness inspired by the vintage Diva broches and their floral soul. Overall, the colors are fresh, awash with deep shades of peacock green, azure, pinks and a dash of metallic.

EYEWEAR

Labor-intensive craftsmanship and evocative symbols characterize the Spring Summer 2016 Eyewear Collection – Giardini Italiani, Diva, Parentesi and Bulgari-Bulgari.

Giardini Italiani retraces the fine symmetries and classic proportions of the most beautiful Italian gardens. Delicately-hued butterfly shapes or more rectangular profiles ooze femininity, a-glitter with hand set Austrian crystals that bloom into geometric floral patterns and trellis decors, secretly interspersed with mother of pearl enamel. The front décor recalls the delicacy of a butterfly wing flap, as light as the dew effect of the top layer. This style also includes new bi-layer color top variant with defined geometric arms evoking the shapes of hedges and flowerbeds.

Winking at Bulgari’s star-studded history, the Diva collection is also inspired by the fan-shaped mosaics that decorate the ancient Roman Baths of Caracalla. The arched shaped motif trickles into new sunglasses with bold and tridimensional glamour. Besides a timeless aviator model, the sensual feline shapes feature a new mosaic fantasy while the temples are adorned with an all-round Diva spirit obtained with hand-chiseled clusters of crystals and enamel.

This season, Bulgari also revives its signature Parentesi design interpreted with a fresh and modern hand. Trendy acetate frames, in either solids or patterned hues with a design that draws from the San Pietrini blocks, typical of Roman alleys, feature a metal bridge nose while the temples are adorned with one of Bulgari’s best known creative designs: Parentesi. A touch of emerald green and berry tourmaline precious karung skin profile refreshes the Bulgari-Bulgari line, a timeless code capturing the sophisticated side of the trendy-urban woman.
