Which factors obstruct light in the eye area?

There are many, beginning with puffiness and dark circles, which have been extensively studied in cosmetics. There are also melanin and non-melanin pigmentation disorders, whichare less well-known but which contribute to darkening the eye  area, like a group of little marks that combine to blur the light.

Why is the eye contour particularly affected? There are physiological factors, particularly the delicate nature of the skin. The structure is the same as the rest of the face but everything is in miniature. This is evident simply by touching the skin but skin sections have confirmed it. The lower density of cells makes it more fragile and toxins thus accumulate there.

We also know that psychological issues such as sadness can contribute to darkening the eye contour, though we are not yet able to offer a scientific explanation for this.
