Tom McCarthy won two Academy Awards

Last night, Director Tom Mc Carthy won the 2016 Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, after winning the Best Original Screenplay BAFTA two weeks ago, the Best Original Screenplay at the Writers Guild of America Awards on February 13^th and the Best Screenplay at the Spirit Awards.

Presented by Charlize Theron, McCarthy took the stage to accept the award with Josh Singer. “For the survivors, whose courage and will to overcome is really an inspiration to us all. We have to make sure this never happens again” said McCarthy.

On Saturday February 27^th, Spotlight already won five Spirit Awards with Best feature, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Robert Altman Award.
