When it comes down to it, the world of luxury perfumes is not so far removed from that of Haute Couture, and Guerlain elegantly and boldly bridges the two. To celebrate the first Christmas of La Petite Robe Noire, a truly exceptional presentation bottle was needed.
A stroke of luck or a twist of fate…
When La Petite Robe Noire was launched, celebrating the elegance of this iconic bottle, a few vintage Baccarat crystal bottles were found at Guerlain’s Orphin factory. True to its tradition of combining timeless know-how with a modern touch, Guerlain entrusted these precious pieces to the contemporary design duo, Kuntzel+Deygas. They redesigned the impish, imaginative Parisienne who embodies La Petite Robe Noire. With charming vivacity, she whirls around three sides of the bottle, casting off her little black dress as she goes and leaving in her wake a long black train. Next it was up to the craftsmen at Baccarat to bring the design to life, meticulously applying the enamel pigments to the bottles. The decoration is fired in a kiln to fix it to the crystal, then polished to give the black enamel its glossy, vitrified appearance. This technique is performed entirely by hand so each silhouette is a unique masterpiece – a true collector’s item.
Ultimate concentration for this exquisite work of art
In Extract form, La Petite Robe Noire is utterly delightful. Black tea, patchouli and black cherry lead the dance, boldly escorted by a confident Guerlinade, which intensifies the fragrant trail, enhancing the richness of the iris, the softness of the vanilla and the intoxicating sweetness of the tonka bean with its almond accents.
The precious philtre is applied to the skin with the ground glass stopper. To better give rise to temptation, it mischievously diffuses its scent in all the places one would like to be kissed.
